This April 2017, we are launching our first volunteer-run residency programme, and will be accepting applications from international artists from a range of disciplines to participate in a free, month long residency. This will culminate in a public exhibition or event showcasing the works produced during their time here.

The cultural epicenter of the South West, Bristol has a reputation for its diverse arts and music scene, green spaces and independent businesses. Renowned for an abundance of creative minds, makers and industries, Bristol has long attracted artists, musicians and designers; contributing towards its distinctive identity. Home to a number of accessible art spaces and organisations, Bristol’s collaborative energy allows projects and ideas to develop, providing a mutually supportive network, across a range of creative practices. With a rich history of industry, transport and maritime trade, there is no end to the influences to be discovered. A city of hills, you are never far from beautiful scenery and the surrounding countryside.

For the duration of the residency, the visiting artists will be based in our project space, a 32 m sq area; suitable for desk space and the production of large scale work. Residents will have access to our fabrication space, a 20m sq area redeveloped into a open- access workshop, providing them with equipment for a variety of creative projects. The residency will culminate in a final exhibition open the public, promoted across Bristol’s creative network.
